Student answer (Band 6.0)

Friends are important assets in once life. Some of the population have views that friends should make same mentality like you, they should not contradict any of your decisions while others think that different opinions persons can be a good friends. This essay will consider both sides views and my opinion as well.

On the one hand, the persons who has same thoughts will able to work together for a longer time as a result they will be very high chances of trust because the thought process of both are same. As every business requires partnership but success of the business totally depends on mentality. For example, if the business has 2 partners then they should work equal time so that there they would success together. It is also seen that there are very less chances of discrepancy as they already know that if there is any loss occur then it is none fault due to this their trust remain active.

On the other hand, If there are two different mindset people then they will view the same aspect in the different view due to which they can discuss each other as comes to conclusion while taking care of most of the negative aspects of doing such a business. Moreover, the role in the organization becomes more clear as they have different knowledge which is helpful for the company growth. To illustrate, two person can recover from the loss by trusting the other idea if one of there idea got failed due to some reasons.

In my opinion, same views must be their among friends otherwise one could not able to freely express their feelings and if it so then the friendship is just for the society show off only.

In conclusion, friends with same ideas are more comfortable and trust worthy while different opinion person can be helpful to bring certain logic into the life which can bring confidence and power to tackle any difficulty.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument for 'same opinions' focuses almost exclusively on business partnerships, which is a narrow interpretation of friendship. The conclusion introduces a new point about 'logic' and 'confidence' that was not fully explored in the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure that each viewpoint is supported by broader, more varied examples that go beyond the context of business, and ensure your personal opinion is clearly integrated and consistent throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to signal the structure. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'if it so then the friendship is just for the society show off only'. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between business partners and friendship is not fully bridged. Improving the variety and natural flow of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'same mentality like you', 'different opinions persons', and 'none fault'. These errors occasionally make the reader work harder to understand the intended meaning. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more natural collocations and precise terminology. For example, instead of 'same mentality', use 'like-minded individuals' or 'shared perspectives'. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary will help you express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the persons who has', 'there are very less chances'), article misuse, and awkward sentence construction ('if one of there idea got failed'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammar rules such as pluralization, verb tense consistency, and the correct use of prepositions. Focusing on sentence accuracy will significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
