Student answer (Band 6.0)
During our lifespan we meet many people, from kindergarden to office at different stages of life we came across different individuals. Some became our part of life and a common name we gave them is friend.
Choosing a friend is subjective. Some people think it's better to choose friends who have same opinions, while some choose to have friends who have different opinions.
In my prespective, both the scenarios has its own pros and cons.
For example, when we have group with same opinion, it let you focus better on certain things. For examples, when I was in college most of my close friends were from commerce background. I really liked spending time with them as we used to dicuss about the business studies. Now because we had the same opinion and our goals were same, that really helped me during my college times.
Similarely, tables turned during my post graduation. When I was pursuing my post graduation, I decided to do my capstone project with my our group. I soon realized I made a mistake, as all had different opinions and way of thinking. We were not able to agree to something common and our project turned out to be a diaster. However, during same year, and in a similar situation, me and were able to come with something innovative. As we were looking to build an AI model that everyone agress to it. Continous diasgreement between the group forced us to think out of the box.
In conclusion, choosing a friend is totally depends on a person situation, I liked a group of people with same mindset during my graduation but I didn't like having friends with different mindset during a college projects as it turned out to be disaster.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide personal examples, the analysis of why having different opinions might be beneficial is slightly repetitive and lacks depth. The conclusion is a bit weak, as it merely restates your personal experience rather than synthesising the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, ensure that your opinion is clearly stated in the introduction and consistently supported throughout the essay with more balanced reasoning rather than relying solely on anecdotal evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'For example', 'Similarly', and 'However'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'with my our group', which disrupts the flow. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is quite brief and lacks a strong concluding statement that ties the two perspectives together. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'subjective', 'innovative', and 'capstone project'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word-choice errors, such as 'During our lifespan' instead of 'Throughout our lives' and 'tables turned' used incorrectly in context. Spelling errors like 'kindergarden', 'prespective', 'dicuss', 'Similarely', and 'diasgreement' occur frequently. While these do not impede communication, they limit the score. To improve, focus on learning collocations and proofreading for common spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('both the scenarios has'), missing articles ('from commerce background'), and awkward sentence construction ('choosing a friend is totally depends on'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately.
