Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention that friends with similar opinions make decision-making easier, the explanation remains somewhat superficial. Similarly, the argument for friends with different opinions is supported by a personal example, but the connection between 'different thinking' and 'learning from mistakes' is not fully articulated. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning and clearer logical links to the prompt's core question about the nature of friendship.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between and within them is often disjointed. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'firstly', 'however', and 'although', but these are sometimes used incorrectly or placed awkwardly, such as 'Althouth, they easy learan'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly relates to the prompt.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, with frequent spelling errors such as 'mordan', 'insead', 'pionts', 'dissions', and 'empolye'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use more sophisticated or precise language to express your ideas. To improve, you should work on expanding your vocabulary related to social relationships and personal development, and pay closer attention to the correct spelling and collocation of common words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There is a high frequency of grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('a friend which have'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which makes the text difficult to read. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to a lack of clarity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect word forms.
