IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some people think it's better to choose friends who always have the same opinions as them. Other people believe it's good to have friends who sometimes disagree with them.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary era, friendship has been playing a vital role in everyone's life. It is kind of natural bonding with someone. However, it is being expected by some people to make friends who have similar thoughts like theirs would be advantageous, whereas, others believe that group of friends with omnipresent ideas is fruitful. In my opinion, having a different thoughts can help each other's to be successful.

To commence, having a same opinions friends can make their life efficient and reliable. In other words, choices in food,movies,shopping and travel match their vibe thus they can enjoy each other's company. For example, both friends would like to watch thriller movies or they are excited to travel in mountains and beaches. Apart from this, if their behaviour is almost similar towards them that means it minimizes the arguments and live happily.

On the other hand, group of mix thoughts always bring number opportunities. First and foremost, friends can establish a business in partnership. For Instance, accounting could be managed by one of them while inventory and marketing could be handled by others. Ultimately, the knowledge of other mate can assist to run their firm efficiently. In addition to this, disagreement sometimes aid one's to be in a risk. To illustrate this, while the purchasing a shares of renowned company - Tesla, other friend would recommend to invest in oil industry with the help of his/her research. Consequently, this is another benefit of procuring a proper related knowledge from unique mindset.

In conclusion, undoubtedly friends who have same opinions can make life easier. Nevertheless, cluster of mix thoughts lead a life to success and helpful.

Additionally, there are some issues with referencing and flow, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between ideas could be smoother. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the essay flow more naturally.
