Undoubtedly, people make friends whom they may or may not meet very frequently. It is an increasingly argued issue because many people consider that mates with sometimes disagreements in their opinions are good to have. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding 'same opinions' focuses primarily on 'recreational time' and 'soulmates,' which lacks depth. The discussion on 'disagreements' is better supported by the idea of avoiding mistakes, but the overall position remains slightly inconsistent, as the conclusion suggests a blend of both, which was not fully explored in the body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, ensure that each viewpoint is supported by more detailed, logical explanations rather than general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is an overall logical progression. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Commencing with,' 'Moreover,' and 'In contrast,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In last, to sum up all the arguments.' Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for instance, in the third paragraph, the phrase 'a worth considering factor for supporting the idea how a disagreement by a friends helps' is grammatically clunky and hinders the flow of ideas. Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words would enhance the coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward collocations, such as 'good guidance giving ability' and 'match almost same vibes.' While the student attempts to use less common vocabulary, the word choices are often slightly off-target, such as 'opine' used in a context that feels unnatural. To improve, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and using more precise academic vocabulary to express complex ideas, rather than relying on informal or repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('a good mate have,' 'a friends can'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing ('a worth considering factor'). While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentence structures are constructed with correct punctuation and syntax.
