Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an ongoing debate about whether individuals choose friends which has same interest or whether visitors select different hobbies. While having an equal hobbies makes people easy to share things, I believe that if person has dissimilar interest, it helps to gain more knowledge.
On the one hand, having a similarities in friendship contain strong bond due to same thinking. In addition to that, not only they can enjoy in same place but they can share similar hobbies. However, sometimes, it can be boring because in that group they do not try new things. Hence, they do not have a encouraging support to do adventurous things which can make them do things out of the boundaries.
On the other hand, there are a plethora of benefits of having a different hobbies. Firstly, everyone has their own power of thinking, so individuals can learn different things and ideas as well. Hence, they can share multiple things. Secondly, If someone is having a trouble, not only other can guide them with their intelligence but also solve the issue which they have. In my view, working in task and sharing different interest make task more interesting and powerful because contribution in different way and if one has a wining approach they can encourage other members to win. consequently, Different thinking works well in group as well as in personal.
In a nutshell, Although similar interest can make easy to understand each other, dissimilar interest make work interesting with new ideas and working different ways. person can learn new things from their friend and make their self more intelligent.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the argument regarding 'similar interests' is brief and relies on general statements like 'enjoy in same place'. The second body paragraph attempts to explain the benefits of 'different hobbies' but suffers from vague phrasing, such as 'everyone has their own power of thinking'. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete, real-world examples to support your points rather than relying on abstract generalizations. The position is consistent, but the depth of analysis needs improvement to fully satisfy the requirements of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', 'Firstly', and 'In a nutshell' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'consequently' at the start of a sentence that does not logically follow from the previous one. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'they' and 'them', which sometimes lack a clear antecedent. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'same interest' and 'different hobbies'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'having a similarities' (should be 'having similarities') and 'make their self' (should be 'themselves'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary or idiomatic expressions limits the score. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('if person has', 'everyone has their own power'), article usage ('having a similarities'), and incorrect word forms ('wining approach' instead of 'winning approach'). While you attempt complex sentences, they are often marred by these errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically articles, pluralization, and verb forms. Reducing the frequency of these errors is essential for moving into the 6.0+ range.
