Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, many individuals believe that it is better to have friends that always have same idea's like them. while others people believe that it is great to have that kind of buddy who sometimes disagree with them. In my opinion, I thinks that it is important to have that type of friend who disagree sometimes.
Firstly, if we have that friend who always agree and have same opinion that kind of friend sometimes gonna create an problem sometimes. This is because if no one is with them to tell what is wrong and what is right for them then they going to take wrong decisions in their life. For example, if someone is buying a business in small town and that town is not grown and developed properly and if that person take advice from that kind of person who always have same opinion as them even if they know about the situation. Therefore, that will going to happen that they are going to face big loss in the business.
Secondly, if we have that friend in our life who disagree with our opinion sometimes then we can get better advice sometimes in our life and will be safe from some problems. For Explicate, if someone is taking a decision for their child's future by themselves without deciding wit their child even they are interested or not at that time that kind of friend going to be disagree with their decision. Therefore, this is going to be a good action for their children to protect their future.
In conclusion, I believe that it is better to have both kind of friend. This is because if one person is wrong in any decision by discussing the problem with our colleagues they are going to be find some good solution for that hurdle. As a result, someone may not going to face difficult time by making some wrong decision in their life sometimes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the risks of 'echo chambers' in business and the benefits of constructive criticism in personal decision-making. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, and the examples, while relevant, lack sufficient detail to fully explore the implications of the arguments. The conclusion introduces a slight shift in position by suggesting a mix of both, which is a valid approach, but the explanation for this could be more robustly linked to the previous arguments to ensure a more cohesive development of ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' are used to signal the structure. However, the use of these devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'that kind of friend', which is used frequently and lacks variety. The flow between sentences is generally logical, but the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow despite the limited range of linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is a reliance on basic, repetitive phrasing, such as 'that kind of friend' and 'have same opinion'. Some word choices are inaccurate or non-idiomatic, such as 'Explicate' (likely intended as 'example') and 'buying a business in small town'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of errors in word formation and collocation limit the score. To improve, you should aim to use more precise synonyms and collocations related to social dynamics and decision-making.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('I thinks', 'that kind of friend... are going to be'), article usage, and awkward phrasing ('that will going to happen'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction that make some parts feel disjointed. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on consistent verb tense and subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
