Student answer (Band 6.0)

People have different views about whether to choose friends with same perspective while others believe that it is best for the both of you not to agree. This essay will discuss both view before explaining why i believe that it is best for you both to align because it will contribute to a strong sense of understanding.

One important reason for having same point of view is that, it makes communication easier and more comfortable. This is because, shared interest and believe will leak to greater understanding. For example, two friends who share same sports, hobbies and lifestyles may find it easier to spend lots of time with each other. Similarily, individual with similar views on important issue may experience fewer disagreement. Unless peace regins within a particular place, goals can be achieved. This can be considered why it is paramount to choose friends which have same perspective as you.

However, it can be beneficial to have varied perspective because it broaden one's horizons. This is because, they can introduce each other to different idea and ways of thinking. If one is way smarter than the other, they can be able to serve as a tutor to someone who is less intelligent friend.

For instance, if you want to choose a university course, a friend with differnet perspective might raise ideas that you can consider very useful. Moreove, respectful disagreement can improve criticak thinking and decision making. In addition, it will make individuals not to be a victim of circumstances.

In conclusion, although keeping friend with seamless goal has some advantages, having the one's with contrasting views also has important benefit. In my opinion, its best for you to have common belief becaue it will contribute to a greater task achievement and improved quality of time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on friendship and providing a clear personal position throughout the essay. The student states their viewpoint in the introduction and reiterates it in the conclusion. Ideas are presented and supported, such as when discussing how shared perspectives make communication easier and how diverse views broaden horizons. However, some arguments lack full development or slip into minor over-generalizations, such as the claim that a smarter friend can serve as a tutor. Overall, the prompt requirements are adequately covered, matching a Band 6.5 or solid Band 6 descriptor profile.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal transitions, such as 'One important reason', 'However', and 'In conclusion'. Nevertheless, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or features awkward phrasing, such as 'This can be considered why it is paramount'. Referencing and logical progression are generally maintained, though certain connective phrases feel slightly forced or unnatural. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, guiding the reader through the arguments without severe disruption, placing it firmly at Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'paramount', 'broaden one's horizons', and 'critical thinking'. However, there are noticeable word-choice errors, spelling slips, and collocation issues throughout the text, including 'leak to' instead of 'lead to', 'Similarily' instead of 'Similarly', 'individual' instead of 'individuals', and 'differnet' instead of 'different'. Despite these vocabulary and spelling inaccuracies, the meaning remains clear and communication is not severely impeded. This performance corresponds well to the Band 6 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms. The student attempts complex structures, such as conditional clauses ('If you want to choose a university course...') and relative clauses. However, there are frequent grammatical errors in tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and article usage, such as 'friends with same perspective', 'individual with similar views', and 'making individuals not to be a victim'. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but minor structural slips persist. Because these errors occur regularly alongside a mix of correct structures without completely impeding overall understanding, a Band 6.0 score is appropriate.
