Student answer (Band 6.0)
A few people believe that they should have those friends who have similar thinking, while other says that it is better if their colleagues have different prospective. There are some reason behind this situation, which I will explain in upcoming paragraphs with my opinion.
To begin with, there are some reasons why individuals think that it is better to have friends who have same mindset. It is helpful for them to do any teamwork. To explain it, when they have similar
opinion about things then they will do any work fast while they are doing any group work, which make them more perfect in that work. Moreover, they can achieve goals, because when they are like-minded, they will help each other to gain their aims. For example, in football players have same prospective about how other player play so one player can help other to do goal.
However, there are some reasons why some people say that it is good to have friends who have different opinions. To make better decisions. To justify it, if their friends will argue with them then they will not only know about other thinking but also they will get to know about their mistakes, which will asset them to make better decisions.Furthermore, prevent them from wrong things.Because sometimes people choose wrong ways and if they have friends who will disagree with them then they can stop them by giving knowledge about the result of wrong path.
According to me, They should have both type of friends in their circle so they can enjoy life with same kind of people and with different opinion they will get more information about things.
in conclusion, individuals can achieve their goals and work better in group if they have like minded friends but if they have different mindset then it help them to make good choice and stop them to do any illegal things.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—having friends with similar opinions and having friends with different opinions—and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion and body paragraph. Ideas are generally relevant, such as teamwork benefits for like-minded friends and better decision-making for those with differing opinions. However, some ideas are under-developed or supported with weak examples, such as the football player analogy, which lacks clarity. The position is maintained throughout, satisfying the requirements for a Band 6.5 or 6, fitting well within the Band 6 descriptor for addressing all parts while having some under-developed sections.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay is arranged with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each view, a personal opinion, and a conclusion, showing an overall coherent structure. Paragraphing is used, though paragraph boundaries and transitions can feel mechanical or abrupt. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'However,' and 'Furthermore' are used to signal progression, but referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen with sentence fragments like 'To make better decisions.' and 'To justify it,' which disrupt the flow. Overall, the organizational structure is clear enough to follow easily, aligning with the Band 6 descriptor.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'like-minded,' 'perspective,' and 'illegal.' However, there are notable word choice and collocation inaccuracies, such as using 'colleagues' instead of 'friends' in the introduction, spelling errors like 'prospective' instead of 'perspective' and 'asset' instead of 'assist,' and awkward phrasings like 'gain their aims' and 'do goal.' These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the score to a Band 6, reflecting an adequate range with some repetitive and imprecise lexical choices.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including conditional and relative clauses ('if they have friends who will disagree with them then they can stop them'). There are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues, such as missing spaces after periods, sentence fragments ('To make better decisions.'), subject-verb agreement issues ('players have same prospective'), and tense inconsistencies. Despite these errors, the meaning is generally clear and communication is rarely impeded. This fits the profile for Band 6, which features a mix of simple and complex forms alongside noticeable grammatical errors.
