Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state a clear preference for friends with similar opinions, particularly in the paragraph beginning “According to my opinion.” The discussion of shared views includes emotional support and understanding, while the opposing view is linked to honesty, correcting mistakes, and personal growth. These are relevant reasons, but some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the claim that similar-minded friends improve educational and career performance needs a clearer explanation or a specific example. The discussion of disagreement is also less developed than your preferred view. To strengthen the response, explain how each benefit works and include a concrete example that supports your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the argument easy to follow, and transitions such as “However” and “To conclude” help signal changes in direction. The ideas generally progress logically within each paragraph. Some linking is mechanical, though, and a few references are unclear—for instance, “It results to reconsideration” does not clearly identify what “it” refers to. The conclusion also repeats the main contrast without adding much synthesis. For stronger progression, connect each supporting explanation explicitly to the view being discussed and vary transitions rather than relying on formulaic paragraph signals.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “emotional support,” “personal growth,” “honesty,” and “strong bond.” There are also attempts at more formal expressions, such as “pivotal” and “constructive disagreements,” which suit an essay. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “same agreements,” “similar mindset,” and “disagreements shows loyalty.” Spelling errors such as “benefical,” “eaisly,” and “thier” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but more natural phrasing would make the argument clearer. Focus on common collocations and check spelling carefully during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concessive opening with “Although” and conditional phrasing such as “if any of them need help.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “there has been a remarkable changes,” “disagreements leads,” and “Their friendship would turns.” Some punctuation also needs attention, such as the missing space after the full stop in “consideration.It.” These errors make several sentences less controlled. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and read each sentence aloud to identify where the structure needs correction.
