Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this digital world having friends around us is blessing. Each friend have their own way of thinking which is different from other. In the following paragraph I will discuss about both the views with reasonable examples which are useful.
Firstofall, friends are backbone of our life. They know every minor details about us. Which is good point. Having friends with same opinions are veryuseful for us. Those friends know enough about us. Sometime they share same opinions on matters which are important for our lives. Those matters can change people's lives. Furthermore, with the same opinions about serious matters can helps to take decisions about it and resolve it. These way their friendship bond will improve and encourage them to believe in each others. Example, friendship with schoolmates is best because of same age. They mostly share same opinions because they faces same problems as you.
Secondly, sometime having friends with different opinions is plus point in our life. Because they oppose the idea which you share to them, as they already faced it once in their life and they do not want you to face it. Their different opinins are useful as they use their own thinking with individual point of views. Those views can save our time and money. Moreover, they have their own experiences with life during their journy which are useful for us as it carries their struggles and hardships. Example, in some friend circle they have friends with each age groups and each one is in different field. Those friends can share different opinions which we can find it in offices.
From my point of view, I can say that both type of friendships are important. As it share their own way. Which are useful for people's growth and happiness in their lives. Those with same opinions can give cheers us and those with different opinions can change our life.
In the end, I can say that friends can share same their opinions based on their judgements. Which is good for our lives. Friends are unbreakable part of our life. Having them around us is best way to live our life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and give a personal position, so the response addresses the main parts of the prompt. The first body paragraph explains that friends with similar opinions can support decisions on important matters, while the second gives a contrasting benefit: friends with different experiences may help prevent mistakes and save time or money. However, these points remain general, and some examples—such as schoolmates being similar because they are the same age—do not clearly show how shared opinions help. Your own view that both kinds of friendship matter is stated, but it is not developed with a specific reason or example. Explain the benefits more fully and make your position clearer throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstofall,” “Secondly,” and “From my point of view” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, some links between sentences are faulty or mechanical. For example, “Which is good point” is an incomplete sentence, and “As it share their own way. Which are useful” interrupts the flow of your opinion. References such as “it” and “those” are sometimes unclear. Use complete sentences, connect each example directly to the point it supports, and vary transitions so the progression feels more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “opinions,” “experiences,” “struggles and hardships,” and “friendship bond.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. Examples include “friends are backbone of our life,” “same opinions are veryuseful,” and “share same their opinions.” There are also spelling errors such as “opinins” and “journy.” Aim for more precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general wording with expressions such as “offer emotional support” or “challenge my assumptions” would make the discussion clearer and more flexible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “because” and “which,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in examples such as “Each friend have,” “same opinions … can helps,” and “they faces same problems.” Articles and plurals are also often inaccurate, as in “is blessing” and “every minor details.” Several fragments, including “Which is good point” and “Because they oppose the idea,” make the argument harder to follow. Use a reliable simple sentence pattern first, then add subordinate clauses only when the relationship between ideas is clear. Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and whether each sentence has a complete main clause.
