Student answer (Band 5.5)
In contemporary era, choosing friends has become increasingly common. Some people consider it's better to choose friends who always have the same opinion as them. Other believe that it is good to have friends who disagree with other choices. I agree both the views because it teach you right or wrong and social life.
On the one hand, those friends who have same opinions will have better social life and bonding. This is because of same thoughts and preferences. For example, me and my friend tina have same choice will prefer to go when mood not good, enjoy watching late night movies, enjoy same food. etc. when anyone in bad mood we know how to heal each other moods. As a result, its create strong bond and we enjoy our social life fully.
On the othe rhand, those people who have differnt opinion and most of time diagree with others opinion will be friend in need a friend indeed. Because that person makes friend not only for fun but to help eachother if someone going in wrong direction. For instance,I am taking decision regarding makeing boyfriend, then without any hesitation she protect me to take wrong step if she diagree with my choice. That is called true frienship I strongly believe that only true friends can tell you what is wrong or right.
In conclusion, although those people have same thought does not means they are not true friends but sometime same choice cannot identify the danger however, they enjoy their social life without any fear. Therefore, when friends have different opinion able to protect each other from a danger they are a symbol of true frienship. As a result, we should respect each other thoughts and opinion.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You discuss both views and give a position: the opening says you agree with both, while the conclusion emphasises the value of friends who disagree when a choice may be risky. The examples about shared activities and a friend advising you about a relationship are relevant and help explain the two perspectives. However, your own position is not fully clear: “I agree both the views” does not explain how you weigh them, and the conclusion shifts towards disagreement being more important. The first view is supported with several activities, but the second example and its wider significance could be explained more fully. State your preference clearly and develop each argument with a more precise explanation of its benefits and limits.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the contrast, and the examples generally follow the points they illustrate. Some links are mechanical or unclear, however. For example, “As a result” introduces the outcome of shared activities, while “Because” begins a fragment-like explanation in the second body paragraph. The conclusion also repeats ideas about true friendship and safety rather than bringing the two views together into a clear final judgement. Use linking phrases more selectively, make the relationship between each claim and example explicit, and ensure each paragraph develops one central point in a logical sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant expressions such as “strong bond,” “wrong direction,” and “true friendship.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make parts less natural or occasionally difficult to follow. Examples include “same thoughts,” “heal each other moods,” and “protect me to take wrong step”; these do not express the intended meanings idiomatically. There are also spelling errors such as “differnt,” “diagree,” and “frienship.” Build a more precise set of phrases for agreement, advice, and emotional support, and check spelling carefully. More accurate collocations would make your examples clearer without requiring unusually advanced vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including a conditional-style example and clauses introduced by “because” and “although.” The meaning is usually recoverable, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms reduce accuracy. For instance, “Other believe” needs a plural subject with a matching verb, and “it teach you” has an agreement error. “For example, me and my friend tina have same choice will prefer to go” combines clauses without a clear grammatical structure, while “although those people have same thought does not means” has problems with agreement and clause construction. Practise building complete sentences around one main clause, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms. This will help your varied attempts communicate ideas more reliably.
