Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response touches on friendship and trust, but it does not adequately discuss both views in the question. It mainly argues that making friends can be risky and that people should set boundaries; it does not explain why someone might prefer friends who share their opinions, nor why disagreement can be valuable. The opening mentions choosing friends with the same point of view, but the idea is not developed or supported with a relevant example. The essay also lacks a clear, direct opinion on the specific choice between like-minded and disagreeing friends. In addition, the response is 39 words below the required minimum. To improve, address each view in a separate, developed paragraph and state your own position clearly, supported by relevant reasons or an example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic overall shape: an opening, a paragraph beginning “On the other hand,” a further paragraph introduced by “More over,” and a concluding “In summary.” These markers help signal stages in the response. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the discussion shifts from shared opinions to general dangers of trusting strangers, without explaining the connection to the task. The long third paragraph combines several points and examples in one sentence, making relationships between ideas unclear. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically rather than to develop a contrast between the two views. Organise the essay around the two positions in the prompt, use one main idea per paragraph, and connect examples explicitly to each position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “point of view,” “true friends,” “trust,” “boundaries,” and “take advantage,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, such as “getting friends is easy,” “a awareness,” and “flattering words” in the context of being deceived. Frequent spelling errors—including “dificult,” “addvantages,” “fruad,” and “thier”—also reduce clarity and control. Some wording about crime and strangers is repeated instead of using more precise language to compare the benefits and drawbacks of like-minded and differing friends. Build a focused vocabulary set for agreement, disagreement, open-mindedness, and mutual respect, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both short statements and longer sentences, but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure and agreement appear in examples such as “Some individual believe” and “our country are not safe,” while “the people can you can say his or her already your friend” is difficult to interpret because the word order and clause structure are faulty. The long sentence beginning “More over increasing fruad” contains several ideas joined without clear grammatical boundaries, and punctuation is often missing or misplaced. These problems sometimes make the intended meaning hard to follow. Practise forming complete subject–verb–object clauses, checking singular and plural agreement, and separating long explanations into shorter sentences. Then add controlled complex sentences using clear subordinate clauses.
