Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: describing what you enjoyed, mentioning your cooking frequency since the course, and suggesting a new course. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a course director. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, when describing what you enjoyed, you mention the teachers and the structure, but the explanation remains quite brief. To reach a higher band, try to expand on your points with more specific details or personal anecdotes to fully develop your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, and you use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition,' 'Moreover,' and 'Furthermore.' However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. There are also some issues with referencing and sentence flow, such as the phrase 'on only the teachers surve there duties well but also the course structure,' which is grammatically awkward and hinders the smooth progression of ideas. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring they are used naturally will help improve your score in this area.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'institute,' 'structure,' and 'beneficial.' However, there are several noticeable errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally impede communication, such as 'surve' instead of 'serve,' 'diseases' instead of 'dishes,' and 'cheif' instead of 'chef.' These errors suggest a need for more careful proofreading and a wider focus on accurate collocations. To improve, try to focus on using vocabulary that you are confident is spelled correctly and fits the context of a formal letter.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a positive step. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the course structure... help me'), tense inconsistencies ('I start cooking'), and word order problems. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly in the closing of the letter. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall clarity of your writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and verb tense consistency will be key to improvement.
