Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to provide a feedback on the short-cookery course I did last month.

I joind your school to learn more about tradition North-Indian food. It includes preparation of different dishes throughout the duration of course. I enjoyed the teaching style of the teacher and the practical classes helps me to gain hand on experience. The structure of classes is well planned and every student find it easyier to lean new reacipies.

Now whenever I got chance to cook food in absence of my mother I really enjoye it. My parents prised me alot for the tasty food I prepare for them while some time take my suggestions while preparing new item.

I want you to suggest you that you should include South-Indian food short-term course also. It will provide variation to people and one can learn other traditional foods like dosa, Idli, Sambar and many other. I would like to inlot in this course in future if your school start this course. I hope you will find this feedback usefull and add new suggested course.

Looking forward to join your school for new course.

Yours faithfully

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: describing what you enjoyed, mentioning your cooking frequency since the course, and suggesting a new course. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a course director. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention enjoying the teaching style, you could have provided more specific details about what made it effective. Similarly, the suggestion for a South-Indian course is clear, but could be expanded by explaining why you believe it would be popular. Overall, the response is relevant and fulfills the requirements of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Now whenever' and 'I hope'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between ideas could be smoother. For example, the transition between the description of the course and your current cooking habits is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, but there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'joind', 'easier', 'reacipies', 'prised', 'usefull'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not impede communication. You use some relevant topic-specific vocabulary like 'practical classes' and 'hand on experience'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on accuracy in spelling and attempt to use more precise collocations and less common vocabulary to demonstrate a wider range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('classes helps me') and incorrect verb forms ('I would like to inlot'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward phrasings that affect the clarity of your sentences. While your meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic tense consistency and subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
