I am writing this to provide the feedback of the cookery course that i have attended in your institution recently.

The course was incredibly informative. All the staff members were highly knowledgeable and willing to clear the questions of the students. The atmosphere was very friendly.

I would like to recommend you to to conduct the cookery classes for the continental and Arabic dishes as they have international recognition.

I am looking forward for the future cookery classes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: describing the course, mentioning subsequent cooking, and suggesting a new course. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the content is relevant, the brevity prevents the writer from fully expanding on their experiences or providing a more detailed rationale for their suggestions. To improve, the writer should elaborate on specific techniques learned or provide more context regarding the suggested courses to ensure the response meets the length requirement and demonstrates a more comprehensive engagement with the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into short paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited. The transitions between sentences are somewhat mechanical, and the overall flow is hindered by the brevity of the text. To reach a higher band, the writer should use a wider variety of linking words and phrases (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition to this') to connect ideas more fluidly and create a more cohesive narrative structure throughout the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary used is generally appropriate for the task, with some good attempts at more sophisticated language such as 'plethora' and 'international recognition'. However, there are minor errors in word choice and phrasing, such as 'provide the feedback of' instead of 'provide feedback on' and 'clear the questions' instead of 'answer the questions'. The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands. Expanding the range of collocations and ensuring more natural phrasing would significantly improve this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'i have attended' (capitalization), '13 course meal' (missing article), and 'recommend you to to conduct' (repetition and awkward phrasing). Additionally, 'looking forward for' should be 'looking forward to'. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. The writer should focus on proofreading for basic errors and work on using a wider variety of complex structures with greater accuracy.
