- say how much cooking you've done since the course
- suggest another cookery course you’d like the school to offer
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 7.0)
Dear Mrs. Shah,
I am Dhruvi Vekaria, student of yours from last batch of cooking session.I am writing this letter as you have asked for the review.
I recently completed the cooking class and it was really a great experience. As the class was about punjabi dishes and I am really fond of eating punjabi. I enjoyed a lot during the course, I get to learn about the specific ingridients that to be used also perfect amount of spices added which I was lacking and because of that my dishes were not perfect. Moreover, the nature of the staff was very friendly and even If someone asked her multiple times the same question she used to reply politely .That was quite amazing that she did get frustrated. I had enjoyed the course thorughly.
After completing the class, I have made many dishes such as shahi paneer, amritsari chole, aloo paratha and everyone one from my family liked the dishes and complimented me. Plus, they motivated me to do more cooking class and learn different cuisine.
So considering my family's opinion, I am further looking for the Mexican and Thai cuisine course. If you provide me these course I would be really grateful to you.
Hoping for the positive response soon.
Your's sincerely,
Dhruvi.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task effectively. You described your enjoyment of the Punjabi cooking course, explained how much you have practiced since, and suggested future courses in Mexican and Thai cuisine. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a course director. To reach a higher band, you could provide more specific detail about the 'enjoyment' aspect, perhaps by describing a particular technique or moment that stood out, rather than just stating it was a great experience. Overall, the response is well-focused and meets all requirements of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'After completing the class', and 'So considering my family's opinion' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor mechanical issues, such as the abrupt transition in the first paragraph. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some sentences could be better connected to improve the overall flow. The structure is sufficient to guide the reader through your points without difficulty.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using topic-specific terms like 'ingredients', 'spices', and 'cuisine'. There are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'ingridients' and 'thorughly'. Additionally, the phrase 'student of yours from last batch' is slightly unnatural. While you successfully convey your meaning, the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited and lacks the precision or flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on more natural collocations and ensuring accurate spelling will help improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'I get to learn' (should be 'I got to learn'), 'that to be used' (should be 'that needed to be used'), and 'everyone one from my family' (should be 'everyone in my family'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after periods and the use of commas. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing your control over verb tenses and sentence structure will be key to improvement.
