Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the development of the required points. While you addressed all three bullet points—describing what you enjoyed, mentioning your cooking practice, and suggesting a new course—the ideas are underdeveloped. For instance, you mention enjoying the course and learning Italian dishes, but you do not elaborate on specific techniques or aspects that made the experience enjoyable. The suggestion for an 'art and culinary' program is vague. To improve, you must expand on your ideas with specific details and examples to ensure the response is sufficiently long and informative.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter lacks a clear paragraph structure, which makes the flow of information feel disjointed. While you use some basic cohesive devices like 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'Additionally', these are used mechanically and do not always create a logical progression between sentences. The transition between your enjoyment of the course and your suggestion for a new program is abrupt. To achieve a higher band, you should organize your ideas into distinct paragraphs: one for the introduction and enjoyment, one for your current cooking practice, and one for your suggestion, using a wider variety of linking words to connect your thoughts more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic structures such as 'I enjoyed about this course' and 'I am done lot of things'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'I would like to offer to school please start', which is not natural English. You struggle to express more complex ideas due to a lack of precise vocabulary. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to cooking and education, and try to use more varied adjectives and verbs to describe your experiences rather than repeating simple phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'Because currently i did a cooking course' (incorrect sentence structure), 'I am done lot of things' (incorrect tense/verb usage), and 'It enhance the communication skill' (subject-verb agreement error). You rely almost exclusively on simple sentences, with very few attempts at complex structures. To improve, you need to work on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of verb tenses. Incorporating a wider range of complex sentences, such as using relative clauses or conditional structures, will also help you demonstrate better grammatical control.
