Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I hope this email finds you well.
I am writing to give opinion about the cookery course which i completed last week from your institute.
I have learned many cuisines while taking classes. However, I enjoyed the teamwork and friendly environment of the school as teammates and teachers are so polite and help in every task to make it more easy.
In my three month course I have prepared many different dishes and also learned the history behind them which was also very interested part of the classes. I mastered in Italian cuisines during this time period, because of the classes I can effortlessly prepared any Italian dish for my friends or family.
One thing which I think needs the flexibility in the course schedule as many of them have work in the morning or some work in the evenings which makes difficult for them to attend classes. To address this you can give the classes in 3 different slots so everyone can come and learn the skills.
Thanks, and regards,
Jashan

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: describing what you enjoyed, mentioning your cooking practice since the course, and suggesting a new course. However, the third bullet point—suggesting another cookery course you would like the school to offer—was not fully addressed. You instead provided feedback on the course schedule and suggested a change to the timing, which is a different requirement than suggesting a new course topic (e.g., a pastry or vegan course). To improve, ensure you read the prompt carefully to distinguish between feedback on the current course and suggestions for future offerings.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'However' and 'In my three month course', to link ideas. However, the transition between the description of the course and the suggestion for the schedule is a bit abrupt. The use of referencing could be improved; for example, in the second paragraph, 'as many of them have work' is slightly unclear as to who 'them' refers to. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, but the flow could be smoother with more varied linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'cuisines', 'effortlessly', and 'flexibility'. There are some minor word-choice errors, such as 'give opinion' (should be 'give my opinion') and 'very interested part' (should be 'very interesting part'). Additionally, 'mastered in Italian cuisines' is slightly unnatural; 'mastered Italian cuisine' would be more accurate. While you successfully communicate your message, the vocabulary is somewhat basic and lacks the precision or idiomatic flair required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For instance, 'i completed' should be capitalized, 'help in every task to make it more easy' should be 'easier', and 'can effortlessly prepared' should be 'can effortlessly prepare'. There are also issues with article usage and verb tense consistency. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to limit your score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will help improve your accuracy.
