Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the course, mentioning post-course cooking, and suggesting a new course. However, the response is slightly under the 150-word minimum, which impacts the overall task completion. The ideas are present but lack sufficient development; for instance, the description of the course is quite brief and relies on simple lists rather than detailed explanations. To improve, you should expand on your experiences and provide more context for your suggestions to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is organised into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is somewhat disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is minimal and occasionally inaccurate, such as the abrupt transition in 'After finished my course.' The logical progression is hindered by short, choppy sentences and a lack of linking words to connect your experiences to your feelings. To improve, focus on using a wider range of transition signals (e.g., 'Furthermore,' 'Consequently,' 'In addition to this') to create a smoother, more professional flow throughout the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express your ideas with precision. There are several word-choice errors, such as 'spieces' (spices) and 'did completed' (a grammatical error affecting lexical accuracy). You rely on simple verbs like 'make' and 'put,' which do not demonstrate a wide range. To achieve a higher band, try to incorporate more specific culinary terminology and avoid repeating the same sentence structures. Using more precise adjectives and nouns will help convey your enthusiasm more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies ('did completed,' 'have make'), missing articles, and punctuation issues. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'I have no experience prior than regarding the cuisine.' These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage. Proofreading for common slips like 'Your's' instead of 'Yours' will also help improve the accuracy of your writing.
