Dear Sir,
I hope you will find this well. I recently completed a short cookery course from your School. In which i learned so much things regarding cooking, different recepies and food presentation. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address all three requested points: you say you enjoyed the practical sessions, report that you have made dishes at home, and request a baking course. However, the ideas are brief and under-developed; for example, “so many dishes and cuisine” does not explain how often you have cooked or give examples. The request for baking is also repeated rather than supported with a reason or a specific course idea. The response contains 135 words, so it does not meet the 150-word minimum. Develop each point with a little more detail, such as a dish you have prepared and what you would hope to learn in a baking course. The letter is relevant, but fuller coverage is needed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The reader can follow the basic sequence from completing the course, to cooking afterwards, to suggesting a new course, and the closing is recognisable as a letter. However, most of the content is placed in one long paragraph, so the three main points are not clearly separated. Some links are awkward or unclear, such as “In which i learned” after the opening sentence and “And i want the school should start.” The repeated request in “I want…” and “Its my humble request…” also interrupts progression. Use separate paragraphs for course feedback, cooking since the course, and your suggestion, with straightforward links such as “Since then” and “In addition.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main message, including “practical cooking,” “food presentation,” “dishes,” and “baking.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which makes parts of the letter less natural. For instance, “so much things” and “dishes and cuisine” do not express the intended meaning clearly, while “favourite thing for me to do it” is awkward. Spelling and form errors such as “recepies” and “mew course” are noticeable. Aim for precise phrases such as “a variety of dishes,” “cooking techniques,” and “a baking course,” and proofread spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies mainly on simple statements and attempts longer structures, but these are often faulty. Examples include “In which i learned so much things,” which is an incomplete sentence, and “I want the school should start another course,” where the clause pattern is incorrect. There are also recurring errors in agreement and sentence construction, as in “there is so many things,” as well as inconsistent capitalisation of “i.” The meaning is generally recoverable, but these frequent problems can make the reader pause. Practise joining ideas with complete clauses—for example, “I learned a great deal about cooking, including different recipes and food presentation”—and check subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries.
