Dear Director,

I hope you are doing well and enjoying your summer. I just received a feedback letter from the school, where I have to write about my cookery course experience.

I really enjoyed at the school. The place is so neat and clean.I learned how to make new dishes. The staff members were also really helpful through my entire course. I never hesitate to ask their help whenever I stuck at somewhere. Kind behaviour of staff teacher helps me to built my confidence.

After I completed my course at school. I opened a new restaurant at my city ,I had saved some money for that. I go the restaurant everyday and prepares the breakfast by myself and my customers really love my food.

In addition, I would like you to offer some course regarding western food.In this era, people want something different food in their meals. such as chicken shawarma and pizza slices. If you introduce that please let me know as well, I would would love to learn about Western food.

Yours faithfully,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you describe the clean school, helpful staff and confidence gained; explain that you now prepare breakfast at your restaurant; and request a course in Western food. These details make the letter relevant and show that you have completed the task. The account of what you enjoyed is the most developed, while your cooking since the course is brief and the proposed course could be more specific—for example, you could explain which Western dishes or techniques you want to learn. The opening also says you received a feedback letter and had to write about the course, rather than directly presenting your feedback. A more direct purpose and fuller development of the later points would make the response more complete and polished.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph about the course, one about your cooking afterwards, and a final request. This makes the main points easy to locate. You also use basic links such as “After” and “In addition” to signal progression. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “After I completed my course at school” is left as a sentence fragment before the restaurant information, and “If you introduce that” does not clearly identify the course or dishes. The opening paragraph could also move more directly into the purpose of the letter. Use complete sentences and clearer references, and link each paragraph’s ideas more smoothly to improve the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “helpful,” “confidence,” “customers,” and “Western food.” Some choices show an attempt to be specific, such as naming “chicken shawarma and pizza slices.” However, several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, including “I really enjoyed at the school,” “ask their help,” and “something different food.” Repetition of “course,” “school,” and “food” also limits flexibility. Choose more natural collocations and precise terms—for example, describe what you enjoyed as “the supportive teaching” or “the practical lessons,” and refer to “a wider range of Western dishes.” These improvements would make your meaning smoother and more idiomatic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate the main message using mostly simple sentences and make some attempts to combine ideas, for example, “The staff members were also really helpful through my entire course.” However, errors in sentence structure, verb forms and agreement are noticeable. “After I completed my course at school” is a dependent clause without a main clause, while “I go the restaurant everyday and prepares the breakfast” has problems with the verb forms and subject agreement. Other examples include “I never hesitate” when describing past experience and “helps me to built.” Punctuation and spacing also need attention, as in “clean.I learned.” Practise complete sentences, consistent past-tense narration, and matching verbs to their subjects.
