Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I recently completed a cookery course from your renowned institute of The Cooking Master. First, I appritiate for considering my feedback of the experience of the classes.
This course was the perfect epitome of combining both the theoritical and the practical knowledge, providing detailed history about every single dish which I had prepared during the sessions. Moreover, after completing the 3 months' course, I gained enough confidence to prepare a whole meal for my family members, and by following my instincts, I cooked for the first time without any guidence and surprisingly, everybody loved the food, eventually the responsibility of dinner shifted to me. In addition, curruntly, I become an expert of cooking the regular food.
I am looking for any other courses, providing the in-depth knowledge about multi-national cuisines with practical sessions as in advanced course. I already go through a website of the institute, but there were not a single similar programm. I request you to offer a course regarding international dishes.
I look forward to your prompt response.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Prutha

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points clearly: you describe the course’s mix of theory and practical work, explain that you now cook for your family and have taken responsibility for dinner, and request a practical course in international cuisines. These details make the letter relevant and give the director a clear sense of your experience. The account of what you enjoyed is supported by the detail about learning the history of each dish, while your cooking since the course is illustrated with a specific example. The proposed course is clear, though its content could be developed further—for example, by naming cuisines or skills you would like included. Overall, the purpose and tone are appropriate for feedback to a course director.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression from introductory feedback, to your experience after the course, and then to your suggestion for a future course. Paragraphing supports this organisation, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “In addition” help connect related details. The closing is also appropriate. At times, however, the links feel somewhat mechanical, and several ideas are packed into long sentences, particularly the sentence beginning “Moreover, after completing the 3 months’ course.” Separating the course outcome from the dinner anecdote would make the progression easier to follow. The reference to the institute’s website also interrupts the request slightly; connecting it more directly to why you are proposing a new course would improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the letter, including relevant expressions such as “practical sessions,” “in-depth knowledge,” and “international dishes.” Some attempts at more formal or less common language are not fully natural: “perfect epitome of combining” is awkward, and “I appritiate for considering my feedback” uses an unsuitable construction. There are also spelling errors, including “theoritical,” “guidence,” “curruntly,” and “programm.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, but they reduce precision and polish. Prefer straightforward, accurate phrasing over elaborate expressions, and proofread spelling and collocations carefully. This would make your vocabulary more controlled while retaining the useful range you already show.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, and the longer sentence about preparing a meal for your family shows an effort to connect events and outcomes. Some grammatical errors remain, although the message is generally understandable. For example, “I recently completed a cookery course from your…” uses an awkward preposition in the course relationship, and “there were not a single similar programm” has a subject–verb agreement problem. “Currently, I become an expert” also uses a tense that does not fit a present, ongoing result; “I have become” would be more suitable. The phrase “both the theoritical and the practical knowledge” contains a repeated article. Review agreement, articles, prepositions, and tense choice, and break up long sentences where needed.
