Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 2.5

The letter begins appropriately and gives a basic response to the request for feedback: you say the course was interesting and enjoyable, and mention that the teacher was friendly. However, the response is far too brief, as it contains 55 words against the required minimum of 150. More importantly, two required points are missing: you do not say how much cooking you have done since the course, or suggest another course you would like the school to offer. The enjoyment point is also only briefly stated, with no specific example of what you learned or liked. Develop all three points with relevant details, such as a dish you have cooked at home and a course topic you would like to study next.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic sequence: you introduce the purpose of the letter and then explain what you enjoyed. The phrase “first of all” signals a move to a new point, so there is some attempt to connect ideas. However, the response is too short to establish a clear overall progression, and the ideas are crowded into one paragraph. The sentence “so it things are very fentastic” does not clearly connect to the preceding comments. Organise the letter into short paragraphs, with one for your course experience, one for cooking since the course, and one for your suggested future course. Use simple links such as “Since then” and “I would also recommend” to make the progression clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a small set of relevant words to express your reaction, including “important,” “interesting,” “enjoyable,” and “friendly.” These make your general positive opinion understandable. However, the vocabulary is repetitive and several choices or spellings are inaccurate, which limits clarity and precision: “enjoyeble,” “usefull,” “mind bloing,” “fentastic,” and “nature” do not communicate your intended meaning naturally. Try to describe specific aspects of the course with more precise language, such as the practical demonstrations, recipes, or atmosphere. For example, “the instructor was welcoming” is more natural than “the teacher was very friendly and nature,” and “inspiring” could replace the unclear phrase “mind bloing.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response mainly uses simple sentence patterns, such as “the teacher was very friendly,” and the basic past-tense verb “was” is generally appropriate when describing the course. However, grammatical control is uneven. In “I am writing this letter inform you,” the infinitive marker “to” is missing; “I really enjoy this course” should use a past form if the course has finished; and “so it things are very fantastic” has an unclear sentence structure. Capitalisation at the start of sentences is also inconsistent. Practise complete sentence patterns and check verb tense, articles, and punctuation. For instance, write “I am writing to give you feedback” and “I really enjoyed the course because it was useful.”
