Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You make a relevant attempt to respond to the school and mention enjoying the learning, cooking many dishes, and wanting another course. However, the required points are not fully addressed: you do not clearly say how much cooking you have done since finishing the course, and the suggested course is unclear. “I would like to participate in new cookery class” sounds like a general request rather than naming a course you would like the school to offer. The letter is also 3 words below the required minimum. Develop each point with specific details—for example, how often you have cooked since the course and a particular cuisine or skill you would like to study.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic letter structure, with an opening, several paragraphs, and a closing. The ideas about the course, future classes, and a response from the school are grouped into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the general purpose. However, progression is not always clear: the sentence about wanting to make Thai rice dishes appears within the paragraph about what you learned, while the next paragraph shifts to a new course without explaining the connection. Linking words such as “Also” and “I would like” are used, but the relationships between ideas remain limited. Organise the letter around the three requested points and use clear transitions to connect them.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “technical skill,” “delicious dishes,” and “different cuisine,” so the reader can identify the subject of the letter. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “anomus experience,” “enhace,” “Apprentely,” and “mastersafe.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “I have been made more than 30 dishes” and “make Thai rice dishes because it is mouthwatering.” Choose familiar words accurately before attempting less common expressions, and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for the course you want and the cooking you have done would make the letter clearer and more effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use mostly short, simple statements and attempt a few longer structures, such as “I would like to participate in new cookery class, which will start after 2 monthes.” However, the longer sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some meanings unclear. For example, “which i never been experience before” lacks a correct verb structure, while “I have been made more than 30 dishes” uses an incorrect tense and verb form. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “in new cookery class” needs an article, and “class. which” incorrectly separates a sentence. Practise accurate past and present-perfect forms, and check each sentence for a complete subject and verb.
