- suggest another cookery course you’d like the school to offer
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear sir, I am writting this letter to express my experience of cookey classes and to suggest a additional program to add on to your cookery school.
I have completed my fast food cooking program lat month. I have learned 35 fast food items and 4 different ways to prepare the each item. Additionally, I have learned how to present food in an organized and attractive manner. It makes me feel more confident about my cooking skills.
I have started my own food stall in new model town 2weeks earlier. It is going so well than I expected. My stall stays busy during whole day therefore, I have decided to hire a assisstant.
As your school have offers several vegetarian and non-vegetarian courses I have observed there is not any vegan cooking course. I get some customers who are vegan but I have to let them go because I have not much knowledge about vegan cooking. I have a suggestion If you could add this course in your school as well. I will be more than happy to join it.
Kind regards,
Rajwinder Kaur

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three requested points and maintain a clear, relevant purpose throughout. You explain what you valued—learning many fast-food dishes and how to present them—and describe your subsequent cooking by mentioning your food stall and plans to hire an assistant. The vegan-course suggestion is also supported by a practical reason: some customers are vegan, and you cannot currently serve them. These details make the letter informative and purposeful. To strengthen it further, develop the course experience with a specific example of a dish or teaching feature you particularly enjoyed, and make the request to the director more direct and polished. Overall, the required content is covered and the ideas are extended with relevant support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear progression: course experience, cooking since the course, and a proposal for a new course. Separate paragraphs help the reader follow these distinct points, and connectors such as “Additionally” and “therefore” show relationships between ideas. The closing is appropriate for a formal letter. Some links are less smooth, however: the opening combines the purpose and course feedback in one long sentence, while “I have a suggestion If…” is an awkward transition into the request. Punctuation around “therefore” and “If” also interrupts the flow. To make the organisation more polished, use a clear opening, then introduce the vegan-course proposal with a direct linking phrase and punctuate each sentence consistently.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “fast food items,” “present food,” “food stall,” and “vegan cooking course.” Phrases such as “more confident about my cooking skills” and “customers who are vegan” are clear and relevant. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “writting,” “cookey,” “lat month,” and “new model town.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “a additional program” and “going so well than I expected.” These issues do not prevent understanding, but they reduce accuracy and naturalness. Proofread spelling carefully and learn common collocations for describing course content, business progress, and a proposed course.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple sentences and longer structures, including a reason clause with “because” and a result clause with “therefore.” The main message remains understandable, but errors in articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries are frequent enough to affect fluency. For example, “a additional program” needs the correct article, “your school have offers” has an incorrect verb construction, and “I have not much knowledge” uses an unnatural grammatical pattern. The sentence beginning “I have a suggestion If…” also needs restructuring and clearer punctuation. Practise accurate article use and subject–verb agreement, and build complex sentences from reliable patterns before adding more variety.
