Student answer (Band 6.5)

From many years, there is a quote which is getting famous that "money can make people happy". I strongly acknowledge this this quote. Not only individuals can make their life convenient with money but also can achieve their goals and dreams.

These days, no doubt technology has evolved a lot due to which people have electronic devices at home that assist them to do their chores with less efforts, poor people on the other hand are still having things done manually. Because the elites can afford all of those appliances and electronics. Similarly, if individuals take an example of traveling, rich people, who have their own private transport mode like, car and a motorbike have the privilege of reaching on their destination without any inconvenience. While people who don't have this facility have to face difficulty in going somewhere. Last year, 45 percent of the student could not sit in their government competitive exam because they don't have their own car or other mode of transportation and the public was already full. At the end, with money people can make their life easy and happy because without struggle life is smooth and happy.

Apart from the money, health is another thing which is essential aspect of people life that makes contribution in happiness. At present, health is wealth quote fits in people's life. They can achieve everything if they are fit and fine. Specially if someone is far from their home. Thousands of students come abroad for higher studies, where they not only study but also work to manage their expenses. In this situation, they are the one who take care of their self. With healthy body there can get their dreams come true. Other than this most of the elderly people complain that if they had a disease-free body they would love to travel different places which shows that having a disease-free body is crucial to follow dreams at any age.

In conclusion, money plays an important role in making individuals happy by making their life easy. With money they can purchase all the items whether it is car, home, electronic items which contribute in making their life easy. Another thing that make people life easy is healthy life because without health they will not be achieve their dreams.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: how money facilitates happiness and other factors contributing to it. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The example regarding students missing exams due to a lack of private transport is a bit specific and perhaps slightly tangential to the broader concept of happiness. While the ideas are relevant, they could be more deeply explored with more sophisticated reasoning. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, but the overall argument remains somewhat simplistic in its approach to the relationship between wealth and well-being.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Similarly', 'Apart from', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, though some sentence structures are slightly disjointed, which occasionally affects the flow of ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main themes of the prompt, ensuring the reader can follow the progression of the argument without difficulty.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'convenient', 'privilege', and 'essential aspect'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'getting famous' instead of 'becoming popular' or 'take care of their self' instead of 'take care of themselves'. While the meaning is always clear, the lack of more sophisticated or precise vocabulary prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'From many years' (should be 'For many years'), 'less efforts' (should be 'less effort'), and 'they will not be achieve' (should be 'they will not be able to achieve'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some minor errors in sentence construction. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. A greater variety of error-free complex structures would be needed for a higher band.
