Student answer (Band 6.5)

Many believes that being rich is the only way to achieve happiness in the life. Having money can solve a lot of problems in your daily life and also you don't have to think before spending it on leisure activities and luxury products. However, there are other ways to feel happy in life such as spending quality time with family and feeling satisfied.

Indeed money can solve a lot of problems. For example, if you can afford private jet you don't have to wait for flights. Similarly, you can get best products and services just by spending more money compared to normal person. While you are focusing on enjoying your life, you can hire someone to work for you and do your daily chores. Money makes people's life easier and make them feel happy by providing comfort and convienence.

Although money is an important factor, it's not the only that make someone happy. Many people feel prefer spending time with their friends and family, instead of earning more money. Money can buy external happiness, but internal happiness comes from within. In the recent studies, it has been found that money and happiness are not co-related. People who feel satisfied from what they have and what they have achieved in life are more happier compared to people who are constantly chasing money. In addition to this, people might feel more joy in doing what they love, putting small efforts for their loved ones, and by getting gifts.

To conclude, many argues that money is the main way to achieve happiness in life. Though money can help you to get better experiences, it's not the only way to feel happy. The true happiness comes from feeling satisfied from what you have and spending time with your loved ones.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt. You clearly explain how money contributes to happiness through comfort and convenience, and you provide alternative perspectives such as family relationships and personal satisfaction. The ideas are relevant and generally well-supported. However, some points, such as the mention of 'private jets', are a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are developed with more depth and nuance. The position is clear throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes your main points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Indeed', 'Similarly', and 'In addition to this' to link ideas. While the progression is generally smooth, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. For instance, the jump between the second and third paragraphs could be more fluid. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the central ideas are easy to follow, meeting the requirements for a solid band 6.5 or 7.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task. You use some topic-specific terms like 'leisure activities', 'luxury products', and 'internal happiness'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'many believes' (should be 'many believe') and 'more happier' (a grammatical error that also affects lexical precision). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and ensure that your word forms are consistently accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('many believes', 'many argues'), incorrect comparative forms ('more happier'), and minor spelling errors like 'convienence'. These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and comparative structures will significantly improve your accuracy.
