Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued that having a lot of money is considered factor of happiness, while some people believe that there others things which can lead to happy lifestyle. In my opinion, although both views have some merits, I opine that having good relationship and job satisfaction are considerable part of every walk of life in individuals.

On the one hand, there are several compelling reasons why money is substantial for happy lifestyle. The primary reason is that financial security. This mainly because they do not need worry about expensive medical treatments, travel and paying bills due to financial stability they are likely to afford everything. As a result earning ample of money is particularly essential for Luxury lifestyle. For instance, a wealthy person can travel oversees without any issue due to money. Therefore, money is highly significant for living happily for everyone.

On the other hand, There are other factors too that considerable for happy lifestyle. one of the major factors is strong relationship with family. One key factor behind it, spending time with loved ones contributes to strong bonding with each other. consequently, family relationship is extremely beneficial which can have a considerable impact on people health. For example, when families get together, spend their precious time with each other then it also considered as stress reliefer as they can share their feelings. Job satisfaction also could be another benefit of enjoying happy life. Hence, this development is more fruitful for happy life than money.

In conclusion, although financial stability is necessary for living good life, i believe that having strong relationship and job satisfaction are quite important for healthy lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the role of money and alternative sources of happiness. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of why money provides happiness is a bit repetitive, focusing primarily on financial security and luxury. The second body paragraph introduces strong points like family and job satisfaction, but these could be expanded with more specific, illustrative examples to reach a higher band. The ideas are relevant, but the depth of analysis is consistent with a band 6 level, as some points are stated rather than fully explored.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs. There is a discernible progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Consequently', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'consequently' starting a sentence that doesn't strictly follow a cause-effect relationship from the previous clause. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main arguments. While the flow is generally smooth, the referencing is occasionally slightly unclear, which prevents it from reaching the higher bands.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their meaning clearly. There is an attempt to use less common vocabulary, such as 'compelling reasons', 'financial stability', and 'fruitful'. However, there are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'considerable part of every walk of life' and 'earning ample of money'. These errors do not impede communication, but they indicate a lack of precision. To improve, the student should focus on more natural collocations and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'This mainly because they do not need worry' (missing 'to') and 'it also considered as stress reliefer' (missing 'is'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with capitalization and missing articles. The frequency of these errors is noticeable, but they rarely cause confusion for the reader. To reach a higher band, the student needs to demonstrate better control over sentence construction and reduce the frequency of basic grammatical slips.
