Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary epoch, it is very hard to live a happy and a healthy life. Some people believe that, having lots of money in life is the only way to live a happy life. In my opinion money brings happiness in life but, money is not the only way to live a happy life, there are numerous other reasons which I will discuss in subsequent paragraphs.
To start with, Majority of people believe that money provides everything which a person needs to enjoy their lives. Money can buy all kind of luxury like big house, best food, best cars and other expensive things like gold and diamonds. Moreover, people can have power with money and they can use other people according to their choices, being powerful also makes some people happy in life. Having all these things with money people think they have everything.
According to me good health, loving family and peaceful life are the main reasons for a happy life. Wealthy people can buy best treatment or best doctors but they cannot buy good health if they are on death bed. Some people have lots of money but they do not have family to share their lives and their feelings. Money can not provide them a happy feeling which can be provided by a human only. More money brings more stress and problems, so when people have less money but they can have a peaceful life.
In conclusion, Although money plays essential role in our lives as it provides us all the necessities but still money is not the only way for a happy life. Good health and having friends and family are the main reasons of a happy life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the role of money in happiness and alternative sources of fulfillment. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the point about money providing power is mentioned but not fully explored, and the discussion on 'peaceful life' lacks concrete examples or deeper analysis. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand your arguments with more specific illustrations or nuanced reasoning rather than relying on general statements. Overall, the task is adequately fulfilled.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'To start with', 'Moreover', 'In conclusion'). Additionally, some transitions between sentences feel abrupt, such as the shift from discussing luxury to the concept of power. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the flow and cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'necessities' and 'contemporary epoch'. However, the range is limited, and there is some repetition of basic words like 'happy' and 'money'. There are also minor collocation issues, such as 'buy best treatment' (should be 'the best treatment') and 'on death bed' (should be 'on their deathbed'). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and idiomatic expressions to demonstrate a wider lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles (e.g., 'a happy and a healthy life', 'the main reasons of a happy life') and punctuation (e.g., unnecessary commas after 'believe that' and 'but'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'money can use other people according to their choices'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on article usage and sentence-level accuracy will be beneficial.
