Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: how money contributes to happiness and other sources of happiness. The ideas are relevant, such as the link between money and freedom, and the importance of health and relationships. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the discussion on 'fantasy' and 'sports cars' is a bit simplistic and could have been expanded with more sophisticated reasoning. The position is clear throughout, but the conclusion is slightly repetitive. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced arguments and deeper analysis of the relationship between wealth and well-being.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a progression of ideas from the role of money to alternative sources of happiness. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Additionally', 'Although', and 'To conclude', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different aspects of the prompt, which helps the reader follow your argument without difficulty.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'lifestyle', 'freedom', and 'satisfied'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are some awkward collocations, such as 'populous believe' (should be 'many people') and 'this type of visions' (should be 'these types of visions'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary and idiomatic expressions related to the topic of wealth and happiness, and pay closer attention to word forms and pluralization.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('most of the men has desire', 'happiness depend') and article usage ('plays important part'). These errors are noticeable but do not significantly impede communication. To achieve a higher band, you should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and refining your use of articles and prepositions. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while maintaining accuracy will also help improve your score.
