IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some people say the main way to be happy in life is to have a lot of money. How might having a lot of money make people happy? What other things in life can make people happy?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

This is always a debatable topic that money gives happiness or there are some other things which matter more than money. In upcoming paragraphs I will discuss importance of money in happiness as well as other important things which matter most.

First of all, no one can neglect that money is crucial part of life. To get any materialistic thing people need money like car, phone, house etcetera. A part from this, for the daily survival most of people need money to buy food. Money does not buy happiness but it can buy things which can provide happiness in life. Moreover, if a person have enough money so that he can full fill needs of his family for example, he can buy things what ever his wife, children or parents want. That give him a lots of satisfaction and happiness.

However there are plenty of other things which matter most one of them is family. If a person have supportive family which stays with him always and he gives time to them, that brings happiness in their life. Some people love to have pets like dogs and cats whenever there are around such a loving animals they feely happy. Moreover, a group of friends are another important need of happy life. people can enjoy their weekends and do barbecues with their loving and caring friends under hectic schedule of week.

Overall, I want to say that money plays crucial role to buy things which a person would love to have. But a family and circle of friend which help him to enjoy those thing brings more happiness.
