Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both how money can bring happiness and exploring alternative factors such as health and family. The writer maintains a clear position throughout the essay. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant explanations and examples, such as mentioning education, meals, and the support of family in difficult times. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise slightly, and some arguments could be developed with greater depth or more precise examples to reach a higher band. Overall, the task is successfully fulfilled, meeting the requirements of a Band 6.5 or solid Band 7 response for task response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay presents a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. It is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which appropriately structures the content. Cohesive devices such as 'Initially', 'To explain it', 'Apart from this', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader, although some referencing and transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive ('stay happy', 'in life'). Paragraphing is used sufficiently. Overall, the cohesive framework is clear and serves the communication well, placing it firmly at Band 6.5.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'contemporary era', 'materialistic', 'multifarious', and 'financial strong' (which contains a grammatical error). There are several spelling mistakes ('luxiery', 'articulte', 'many', 'requirments', 'difficulities', 'becuase', 'fo', 'everething', 'inidividuals', 'thier', 'physcially', 'mentaly', 'reltaionship', 'aspects', 'conlusion', 'necessay') and word choice inaccuracies that occasionally require the reader to pause. However, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning clearly, earning a Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over clause structures with relative clauses ('who always stand with each other') and conditional elements. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasings throughout the text, such as 'run behind the luxiery lifestyle', 'becoming a affluent', 'being a financial strong, individuals can fullfil their all requirments', 'due to it, some inidividuals lag behind from their education', and 'despite they have enough money'. Punctuation and article use are also occasionally faulty. These errors do not impede overall communication, but they restrict the score to a Band 5.5.
