Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing how money brings happiness through material items and experiences, as well as alternative sources of happiness such as family and relationships. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, lacking depth and specific elaboration in places. Furthermore, it is important to note a critical issue regarding length: the response falls short of the minimum requirement, containing only 207 words instead of the required 250. This negative impact on word count prevents the task from being fully satisfied.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraphing structure that introduces the topic, body paragraphs for each prompt requirement, and a conclusion. There is a clear progression of ideas from discussing financial wealth to interpersonal relationships. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion', though referencing and transitions are sometimes a bit mechanical or repetitive, bridging the gap between a basic and a more systematically organized text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing an understandable attempt to express ideas about wealth and happiness. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and collocation, such as 'Ample amount of people', 'excessive cash offers multiple accessibility', 'materialistics items', and 'plesure environment'. These inaccuracies do not entirely impede communication, but they reflect a limited range and constrain the precision of the argument.
