Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the contemporary era, Money plays an important role in our daily lives. It is commonly said that a lot of money is the main reason to stay happy in life. I believe that money is not only the one thing that make people happy but also there are other things that matters in life to stay happy. I am going to discuss how having money makes individuals happy as well as what else can help to make people happy.

To commence with, there are some reasons why money important. First and foremost, money allows people to purchase whatever they want. They can buy things according to their needs. It gives them an opportunity to fulfill their expenditure. For example, If the parents are financially stable, they would be able to provide outstanding education to a child and fulfill their dreams. Moreover, people feel more confident and happy because having a lot of savings give them future security. Thus, they can use that money in an unexpected situation in future life. So, Money is not only a source of happiness but also It gives them stress free life.

On the flip side, without money humans can feel happy and stay motivated. Firstly, Family support and strong relationships with members matter a lot to make life happy. Additionally, family is really crucial because they play a significant role in our lives. Moreover, They give us emotional support while facing difficult situations and they always ready to provide accurate guidance when individuals need. Therefore, having a good relationships with loved ones give a diffenent level of happiness that can not buy through money.

In conclusion, although, some people think that the main way to be happy is money, it can help to complete our expenditure and can stay happy but healthy relationship and family support also play a important role as it can not be ignored.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question and maintain a clear position: money can provide happiness, but it is not the only source. The points about meeting needs, funding a child’s education and providing financial security explain how money may help. You also identify family support and close relationships as other sources of happiness. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully developed. For instance, the claim that savings create a “stress free life” could be qualified or illustrated, and the discussion of relationships would benefit from a specific example showing how emotional support improves someone’s wellbeing. The response is relevant throughout, but developing these points more fully would make the argument more convincing and balanced.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on money and relationships, and a conclusion. The progression from financial benefits to non-financial sources of happiness is easy to follow, and linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “Therefore,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. However, several transitions feel mechanical, and “Moreover” is repeated within the same paragraph. Some references are also unclear, such as “they” in the sentence about family guidance. Use a wider range of links and make pronoun references explicit to improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to discuss the topic, including phrases such as “financially stable,” “future security,” “emotional support,” and “strong relationships.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “happy,” “money,” and “people,” while several collocations or forms are inaccurate: “fulfill their expenditure,” “accurate guidance,” and “a different level of happiness” are not natural in context. There are also spelling and word-form errors, including “diffenent.” Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check whether words naturally combine; this will make your meaning clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If the parents are financially stable, they would be able to provide…” and clauses introduced by “because” and “although.” The overall meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors remain in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction. Examples include “the one thing that make people happy,” “savings give them,” “they always ready,” and “a important role.” The conclusion also begins “although” in a way that makes the sentence structure awkward. Review subject–verb agreement, article use and complete verb phrases, then proofread longer sentences to ensure their clauses connect correctly.
