Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address all three points: you praise the singer’s performance, mention your musical background and achievement, and ask for help recording and releasing a song. The specific reference to “love birds” and your first place in a national competition makes the letter relevant. However, the request for assistance is not fully clear or developed: explain what kind of support you want from the singer, such as advice, an introduction to the team, or a recording opportunity. The response is also 11 words below the required minimum, so there is limited space to develop these ideas. A more complete explanation of your musical activities and a clearer, more courteous request would make the letter more effective.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter follows a generally sensible order: you introduce your reason for writing, comment on the concert, describe your own experience, and then make a request. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “Lastly” help signal these stages. However, the progression is somewhat mechanical, and the paragraphs are not clearly separated, so the shift from praising the singer to discussing your career feels abrupt. Some connections are also unclear, particularly the move from the singer’s “big name” to releasing a song through his channel. Use distinct paragraphs for the performance, your musical background, and your request, and connect each point with a more explicit explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “outstanding,” “national singing competition,” “record my song,” and “studio.” These choices make your purpose understandable. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “perfomance,” “audians,” “carier,” and “competation.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “your singing give a mind satisfaction,” “On the top of that,” and “catch audience.” Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, and choose wording that clearly expresses your admiration and the practical help you are seeking. A wider range of precise expressions would make the letter sound more fluent and appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, for example, “I would like to say that there were many singers…” and the sentence beginning “as you have a big name.” This shows some variety, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are frequent enough to make parts of the letter awkward. For instance, “your singing give” needs subject–verb agreement, while “if you could record my song in your studio will make easy” lacks a clear grammatical structure. The closing “Your faithfully” also has an agreement error. Practise building complete conditional requests, such as “If you could record my song, it would help me reach a wider audience,” and check sentence boundaries and capitalization.
