Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: your feelings about the concert, your musical background, and your request for help. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which limits the development of your ideas. For example, your description of your musical activities is quite brief. To improve, you should expand on your specific goals or the challenges you face in your guitar practice. Because the response is 21 words short of the required length, the task is not fully completed according to the instructions, which impacts the overall score for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter follows a logical structure with a clear opening and closing. You have used basic paragraphing to separate your feelings, your background, and your request. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures and lack a variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly. For instance, the transition between your concert experience and your own musical activities is abrupt. Using more sophisticated transitions such as 'Furthermore' or 'In addition to this' would help improve the flow and logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message clearly, such as 'soothing', 'role model', and 'performance'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, you wrote 'get perfect in my musical lessons' instead of 'perfect my skills' or 'achieve proficiency'. Additionally, there are minor errors in word form, such as 'indiviual' (spelling) and 'singing vocals techniques' (redundant). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your vocabulary is used in a natural, idiomatic way.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

Your writing uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of your writing. For example, you missed articles ('There was a very peaceful environment') and had issues with subject-verb agreement and pronoun usage ('i had in your concert'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of spaces before commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to suggest that you need to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for small grammatical slips.
