Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: expressing your feelings about the performance, describing your musical activities, and requesting help. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. While you mention your involvement in backstage activities and teaching, the explanation of how you would like the singer to help you is a bit vague. To reach a higher band, ensure that your request for assistance is more specific and clearly linked to your stated goals. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter, though it could be more formal or polite given the context of writing to a professional performer.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the concert experience to your own activities and finally to your request. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate, such as the awkward use of 'If, I will talk about...' and 'Because, I do not have...'. Paragraphing is present but could be more effectively used to separate the distinct parts of your letter. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly when shifting between your experience at the concert and your own musical background, which makes the flow feel a bit disjointed in places.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on basic descriptors like 'too good' and 'too much energetic'. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'get the lot of reviews' (instead of 'received a lot of positive feedback') and 'revert back to me' (which is redundant). While your meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and you struggle to express more nuanced ideas about your musical experience or your specific needs for guidance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('All peoples was enjoying'), incorrect verb tenses ('I am also perform'), and punctuation errors, such as unnecessary commas after 'If' or 'well'. These errors are frequent and occasionally cause the reader to pause, though they do not completely impede communication. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly the correct use of articles, verb forms, and consistent tense usage throughout your writing.
