Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear atif,
I am writing this letter to express my heartfelt appreciation for your last concert, which was held on 12 July 2026 in Dubai.
Nextly, your voice and looks are incredible, Additionally, the way you connected with the audience and sang the songs on their demand shows how respectful you are towards others' feelings. Moreover, one of the songs you performed Aadat, deeply touched my heart, and I remember during this song how people were shouting and enjoying.
Furthermore, this is one of the best events that I have ever attended. Apart from this, the live video is also available on YouTube, which gives me satisfaction, and even after watching it more than 20 times, it is still new to me.
Thanks for sharing your talent with us. I feel so lucky to be a part of this great performance.
Yours faithfully,
Aharaf Shaikh

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to address two of the three bullet points in the prompt. While you successfully describe your feelings about the performance, you completely omit any details regarding your own musical activities and fail to explain how you would like the singer to help you. Additionally, the response is under the 150-word minimum requirement. To improve, you must ensure that every instruction in the prompt is covered with sufficient detail. Because the task is only partially addressed and the length requirement was not met, the score is limited.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into short paragraphs, which is appropriate for this task type. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore'. However, the use of 'Nextly' is non-standard and awkward. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the lack of content regarding the second and third bullet points makes the overall structure feel incomplete. To reach a higher band, ensure that your transitions are natural and that you fully develop each paragraph to support the requirements of the prompt.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'heartfelt appreciation', 'connected with the audience', and 'satisfaction'. There are some minor issues with word choice, such as 'looks' (which is informal in this context) and the non-standard transition 'Nextly'. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, but it lacks the variety and precision required for higher bands. Focusing on more sophisticated collocations and avoiding informal phrasing would help improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'sang the songs on their demand' (which should be 'at their request') and 'one of the songs you performed Aadat' (which requires punctuation like a comma or parentheses). Punctuation is generally functional, though some sentences are slightly fragmented. The errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing your use of error-free complex structures will improve your performance.
