Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You expressed your feelings about the concert, described your musical background, and explained how you would like the singer to help you. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, when describing your musical activities, you list genres like 'classic music' and 'hip-hop' but do not elaborate on your specific skills or experience. Similarly, the request for help is quite vague. To improve, try to provide more specific details or examples to flesh out your points, which would make your letter more engaging and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your message. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'At the end' to signal the progression of your ideas. However, the transition between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as in the final paragraph where you ask to 'add in your music activities', which is grammatically awkward and makes the connection between your request and the singer's role slightly confusing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'concert', 'musician', and 'participated'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'express my feel' instead of 'express my feelings', and 'reaching our city' instead of 'coming to our city'. You also rely on simple, repetitive language. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations and a wider range of vocabulary related to music and performance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'I attend this concert' (should be 'attended'), 'I feel very energetic and motivate' (should be 'motivated'), and 'which organized in my society' (should be 'which were organized'). There are also issues with prepositions and article usage, such as 'at Lural park' and 'in your music'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your intent, they are frequent enough to lower the score.
