Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing your feelings about the performance, detailing your musical background, and requesting tutoring. However, the response is under the 150-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of your ideas. While the purpose of the letter is clear, the content is somewhat brief and lacks the depth required to fully explore the points. To improve, ensure you expand on your musical activities and the specific reasons why you admire the singer's performance to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your message. You use basic paragraphing to separate your feelings, your background, and your request. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition between sentences is occasionally abrupt, such as the jump from the concert description to your childhood dreams. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and phrases (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition to this') to create a smoother flow between your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety expected at higher bands. You use some basic errors in word choice, such as 'I am so overwhelming' (should be 'overwhelmed') and 'voice to soulful' (should be 'voice is so soulful'). There are also some awkward collocations like 'guitar strains'. While your meaning is clear, the range of vocabulary is limited. To improve, focus on using more descriptive adjectives and precise musical terminology to convey your enthusiasm and background more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are several grammatical errors throughout the letter that occasionally hinder the flow of your writing. Examples include 'I have attended Bistar Concert' (should be 'I attended'), 'It will be always life time memory' (missing articles), and 'Your's Faithfully' (incorrect apostrophe). You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and your attempts at more complex sentences contain errors, such as 'I know I will be not better than you'. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
