Student answer (Band 5.0)

to the my favorite singer

i am glad to attend your concert because i really liked your songs and the tones. I have visited N number of concert as well as i used to. when i thought about the visit your concert i was too much happier to have a news of your concert.

as my perspective everyone should visit your concert due to your songs is not just a song it is a therapy furthermore this can be more than that. The main thing is that your song is more nd more related to everyone life moreover it also can be a solution to listing your songs and vibe on it, they can do dance even though they do not know that. At my home town i do every home works with the listing your songs and i complete it easily as like it's nothing for me, even i can do anything while listing your songs.

thank you

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all three bullet points, but the development is uneven. You express your feelings about the performance and mention your musical activities (doing homework while listening). However, the third bullet point—explaining how you would like the singer to help you—is entirely missing. You failed to make a specific request or ask for guidance, which is a key requirement of the task. Consequently, the response is incomplete. To improve, ensure you dedicate a full paragraph to each bullet point in the prompt to ensure all parts of the task are fully addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks a formal structure. It is written as a single block of text rather than using appropriate paragraphing for a letter. While you use some cohesive devices like 'furthermore' and 'moreover', they are often used incorrectly or in a way that makes the flow unnatural. The progression of ideas is disjointed, particularly when moving from the concert experience to your personal study habits. To improve, use clear paragraph breaks for each main idea and ensure that transition words are used to logically connect sentences rather than just acting as fillers.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'N number of concert' and 'too much happier' are unnatural and indicate a lack of control over collocations. You rely on basic vocabulary, such as 'good' and 'songs', and struggle to express more complex ideas precisely. There are also issues with word choice, such as using 'listing' instead of 'listening'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning common collocations and using a wider variety of descriptive adjectives and verbs to convey your enthusiasm and specific musical interests.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('your songs is not just a song'), incorrect verb tenses, and awkward sentence construction ('I have visited N number of concert'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with a lack of capitalization and improper sentence boundaries. The range of structures is limited to simple sentences, with few attempts at complex grammar. To improve, focus on basic sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and consistent use of articles and pluralization.
