Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt. You expressed your feelings about the concert, described your musical activities, and explained your request for help. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention your interest in singing, the description of your 'musical activities' is quite brief and could be expanded with more specific details about your practice routine or the types of songs you enjoy. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a singer, though it leans slightly informal. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully developed with more descriptive language.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the concert experience to your personal interests and finally to your request. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'I am writing to,' 'In concert,' and 'I hope that' are used, but there is a lack of varied linking words to connect ideas more fluidly within paragraphs. Additionally, the paragraphing is non-existent; the entire letter is written as one block of text. Using clear paragraph breaks for each of the three bullet points would significantly improve the structure and readability of your response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'live concert,' 'role model,' and 'singing industry.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'did lot of enjoy' instead of 'enjoyed myself' and 'get name and fame' which is a non-standard idiom. There are also minor spelling and word-form errors, such as 'tach' instead of 'teach.' To improve, focus on learning natural collocations and refining your use of verbs to express feelings and actions more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include incorrect verb tenses ('which was hold' instead of 'which was held'), missing articles ('attend it as you are my favorite singer'), and subject-verb agreement errors ('your all songs are'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and sentence boundaries. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common tense errors will help improve your accuracy.
