Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: your feelings about the performance, your musical background, and your request for collaboration. However, the response is under the 150-word minimum, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. The ideas are relevant but could be developed further to meet the length requirement and provide more depth. For instance, you could elaborate on the specific techniques you use when playing the guitar or describe the concert atmosphere in more detail to better engage the reader.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks clear paragraphing, which is essential for a formal or semi-formal letter. The ideas are presented in a single block, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your thoughts. While you use some basic cohesive devices like 'last week' and 'I am also', the overall structure is quite mechanical. To improve, you should use separate paragraphs for each bullet point and employ a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely on basic words like 'good', 'talented', and 'romantic'. There are also some issues with word choice and spelling, such as 'imazinated' (imagined) and 'wanna' (want to), which is too informal for this type of task. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise and varied vocabulary, such as using 'captivated' instead of 'fascinated' or 'collaborate' instead of 'collab'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('you was performing') and tense inconsistencies. The sentence structures are generally simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense and pluralization. Using a mix of simple and complex sentences will help demonstrate a better range of grammatical control.
