Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Darshan,
I hope you are doing well.
I am writing regarding your recent concert in Ahmedabad dated on 08th October 2025.
I have been a blue family fan since 2016, since your Rawstar show and this concert has made me a bigger fan of your singing, special the new song that you lanuched. The lyrics of the song reflected the life experience of many people who got second chance at love.
You have been my inspiration for writing. I have been working on this one song that is about a reader who thinks love is a myth and finally finds love in the most unexpected person. I have been working on it for 2 years now and finally it has been completed.
I would like to request if you could review it and share your honest feedback for the same. Also if you like the song, it would be my honour if you can make a small video singing the song.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You expressed your appreciation for the performance, described your musical activities (writing a song about love), and clearly explained how you would like the singer to assist you. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a performer. To reach a higher band, ensure that your descriptions are slightly more detailed; for instance, you could elaborate on why the performance was so impactful or provide more context about your songwriting process to fully develop your ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing request. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt, which helps the reader follow your ideas easily. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Also' and 'I have been working on it'. To improve, try to incorporate a wider range of linking words and transition phrases to connect your sentences more fluidly, as some transitions currently feel a bit mechanical or repetitive.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, such as 'inspiration', 'unexpected', and 'honour'. However, there are some spelling errors ('lanuched' instead of 'launched') and minor word choice issues, such as 'blue family fan' which is unclear. Additionally, 'special' should be 'especially'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on accurate spelling and more precise collocations will help improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as the present perfect continuous ('I have been working on') and relative clauses ('who thinks love is a myth'). There are some grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'dated on 08th October' (should be 'dated 8th October' or 'on the 8th of October') and 'feedback for the same' (which is slightly unnatural in this context). While these errors are noticeable, they do not cause difficulty for the reader. Increasing the variety of complex structures and proofreading for minor prepositional errors would be beneficial.
