Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: expressing your feelings about the performance, describing your musical activities, and requesting help. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention you have musical instruments, you do not specify which ones or what kind of music you play, which would have made the letter more engaging. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a singer, although the opening paragraph is redundant as it repeats the prompt instructions. To improve, ensure that each point is expanded with more specific details to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'Some days ago went to a concert' lacks a subject, and the use of 'than' instead of 'then' in the third paragraph disrupts the flow. While there is a logical progression from the concert experience to your personal musical interests and finally to your request for help, the connections between sentences could be smoother. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring correct pronoun usage would significantly improve the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some effective phrases like 'hit our hearts' and 'outstanding style.' However, there are instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'our feelings on peak' and 'give some tricks.' Additionally, there is some repetition of basic vocabulary. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise adjectives and collocations related to music and performance. Expanding your range of vocabulary will help you express your enthusiasm and your musical goals with greater sophistication and clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include missing subjects (e.g., 'went to a concert'), incorrect verb tenses, and errors in article usage. For example, 'some my friends' should be 'some of my friends,' and 'give me some advise' should be 'give me some advice.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions will help you achieve greater accuracy in your writing.
