Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
You have addressed all three bullet points: expressing feelings about the performance, describing your musical background, and requesting help. However, the response is 143 words, which is below the 150-word minimum requirement. This failure to meet the length constraint negatively impacts the task achievement score. Additionally, while the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped. For example, your description of your musical activities is quite brief and lacks specific detail. To improve, ensure you expand on your points to meet the word count and provide more depth to your explanations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter follows a logical progression, starting with the purpose of the letter, moving to your background, and ending with the request. However, the paragraphing is poor; the entire body of the letter is presented as one large block of text. Using clear paragraph breaks for each bullet point would significantly improve the structure. Furthermore, the use of cohesive devices is limited and somewhat repetitive. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, which makes the flow feel mechanical rather than natural. Improving the use of linking words like 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in addition' would help the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic. You use simple phrases like 'big fan' and 'amazing', which are acceptable but lack the sophistication expected at higher bands. There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'tried to sang' (should be 'tried to sing') and 'guild me' (should be 'guide me'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise collocations and a wider range of vocabulary related to music and professional development. Avoid repeating the same words and try to incorporate more descriptive adjectives and verbs.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'I am big fan yours' (missing 'a' and 'of'), 'I am attending your recent concert' (incorrect tense; should be 'I attended'), and 'I want to singing' (should be 'I want to sing'). You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures. To improve, you need to demonstrate control over a wider range of complex structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, and pay closer attention to verb tenses and subject-verb agreement. Proofreading for basic errors is essential.
