Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Karan Aujla,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am Amrit with candidate ID 295. I am writing this letter regarding sharing my point of view of the show that was held at Rogers Arena last week.
Commencing with the performance, I was very excited for your concert and I brought my family at your show. The entry was really impressive with blinking lights and rock music. Moreover, each and every candidate was enjoying your show with hit and famous songs that you sung on this occasion.
Moving further, I like how you organize your music band team in proper uniform which put positive impression on audiences. Also, the music level was reasonable that made happy to the audiences because music with reasonable volume does not impact on health.
Overall your performance on stage made show memorable. I was really appreciates with you efforts and progress which demonstrates your struggle how to reach at this stage. I hope in future I get a chance to attend your another concert.
Thank you for your times.
Gratefull

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to address two of the three bullet points in the prompt. While you describe your feelings about the performance, you do not provide details of your own musical activities, nor do you explain how you would like the singer to help you with those activities. The letter focuses entirely on the concert experience and your appreciation of the singer's team. To improve, you must ensure every bullet point is explicitly covered. Because the second and third requirements are completely missing, the task is only partially addressed, which significantly limits the score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Moving further', and 'Overall' to transition between ideas. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical, and the connection between the introduction and the body paragraphs is slightly disjointed. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that relates back to the prompt's requirements.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'impressive', 'memorable', and 'demonstrates'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'I was really appreciates with you efforts' (should be 'I really appreciated your efforts') and 'music level was reasonable' (which is slightly unnatural in this context). The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on correct verb forms and natural collocations will help improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'each and every candidate was enjoying' (candidate is incorrect here; 'audience member' would be better), 'that you sung' (should be 'that you sang'), and 'made happy to the audiences' (should be 'made the audience happy'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the grammatical control is inconsistent. To reach a higher band, you should work on subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage, and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately.
