Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear sir,
I am writing this letter to express my feelings that I recently felt during your singing concert.
After a long time, I got a chance went to a concert , which was about 5 km away from my hometown. However, one of my close friend told to me there is a big concert of singer daljit dosanjh , because she knows very well that I am huge fan of this singer.I made a plan with her to visit there. Although, we hardly got a tickets due to large crowd of people .
Moreover, this was a very first time when i was looking the first apperance of my favourite celebrity. The overall performance was too good like his voice is too loud every person can listen despite sitting far away from the stage.Additionaly, he did a lot of funny activities with small kids. He gave a mike to small children to sing his song infront of him which was showing his politeness.
I would appreciate your confidence and talent if you could provide me a help to learn this talent by giving some instructions realted to singing.I would be happy to recieve a full support from you.
I hope you will feel good while providing some help .
yours faithfully

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers all parts of the task well. You successfully explained how you feel about the performance, mentioning that 'the overall performance was too good' and highlighting the singer's politeness and interaction with children. You also gave details of your musical activities indirectly by expressing a desire to learn singing and receive instructions. Finally, you explained how you would like him to help you by asking him to 'provide me a help to learn this talent by giving some instructions'. The tone of the letter is generally appropriate for communicating with a singer, although the salutation should have been personalised to the singer's name rather than 'Dear sir'. Overall, the ideas are relevant and adequately developed to meet the prompt requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter uses some basic cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Although', 'Moreover', and 'Additionally'. Paragraphing is attempted, with distinct sections for the introduction, the concert details, and the request for help. However, the logical progression is occasionally hindered by abrupt transitions and awkward phrasing, such as 'After a long time, I got a chance went to a concert'. Referencing is not always clear, and some sentences feel disjointed. Overall, the organisation provides a coherent arrangement, but the control of cohesive devices remains somewhat mechanical and faulty.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but it is somewhat limited and repetitive. You successfully used words like 'celebrity', 'confidence', 'talent', and 'politeness'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'provide me a help' instead of 'help me', 'singing concert' instead of 'live concert' or 'musical concert', and 'recieve' with a spelling error. While you attempted some less common vocabulary, the errors in word formation and collocation prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Communication is maintained, but the lexical range is basic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writing contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'Although, we hardly got a tickets due to large crowd of people'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense issues ('I recently felt', 'I was looking the first apperance'), article misuse ('a tickets', 'a large crowd'), and preposition errors ('realte to singing'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces placed before commas. These errors can occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, but they do not completely impede communication. The control over complex structures needs improvement.
