Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Cheema Y,
I believe you are doing well, I am a huge fan of yours. I saw your live concert in Delhi yesterday it was the best concert i have been to in.
The best part of the event is your entry and your guest appearance which bought memorising memory in my life. I am also a musician i can relate hows it feels when you are performing in front of such a huge crowd.
As i mentioned above, I do twice rehealsal and sat down close to nature to write painreliefer lyrics in my leisure time. Recently i wrote a song that i would like to share with you and need your assisatance to give a final touch on that.
Also, If you like that, we can record its music and launch it. This song would break all the previous record thats what i believe. Hope for positive response from your side.
Thanks and Regards,
Aditya singh

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers all three bullet points required in the task instructions. The student clearly describes how they feel about the singer's live performance in Delhi, mentioning specific aspects like the entry and guest appearance. Details of musical activities are provided, including doing rehearsals, writing lyrics close to nature, and recently finishing a new song. Finally, the student explains how they would like the singer's help, specifically asking for assistance to give a final touch to the song and collaborate on recording and launching it. The tone is appropriately informal and polite, fulfilling the letter-writing format successfully.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, beginning with a salutation, moving through the performance feedback and musical activities, and concluding with a request and sign-off. Cohesion between sentences is generally maintained, though some transitions are abrupt. For instance, moving from the concert experience to personal musical activities lacks a smooth cohesive link ('I am also a musician i can relate hows it feels'). Paragraphing is used adequately to separate distinct ideas, and pronouns are used for referencing, though occasional mechanical referencing makes the flow slightly disjointed in places.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for a general letter, including terms like 'guest appearance', 'rehearsal', and 'assistance'. However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'bought memorising memory' (instead of 'brought memorable moments'), 'rehealsal' (rehearsal), 'painreliefer' (pain-relieving), and 'assisatance' (assistance). While these errors occur, they do not impede overall communication. Attempts at less common vocabulary are evident, but precision and collocation are sometimes lacking.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response includes a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'As i mentioned above, I do twice rehealsal and sat down close to nature to write painreliefer lyrics in my leisure time.' However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation slips, including run-on sentences ('I saw your live concert in Delhi yesterday it was the best concert i have been to in'), missing capitalization ('i'), tense inconsistency ('bought memorising memory'), and phrasing issues ('hows it feels'). These errors occasionally cause slight difficulty for the reader, though the meaning remains comprehensible.
